About Tim

I am an Arkansan through and through. Although I was born in Texas, my family moved here when I was in Junior High School and nothing has ever felt more like home. I don’t like to talk to much about my home here as I’m afraid more people will move to Arkansas and try to ruin it. I live way out West Little Rock. It’s a little burg called Ferndale, Arkansas, or, as I lovingly call it, The Blair Witch Project. I live with a quiver of dogs and a lot of trees.

While trying to write a little bit of a bio for this blog, I asked some friends to give one word that they thought described me. One friend who is an inmate at a local prison said I was “everyman,” or “relatable.” Another said, “reliable.” My sister said, “adroit.” I love that one. A buddy from college said I’m a “light-walker.” Sounds really inspiring. But, he also said, “You’re the reason Arkansas leans to one side.” Much more accurate, I think. I’m not good at touting myself. About the only good I can say about me is that I’m a flawed, broken man who is desperately and hopelessly in love with Jesus Christ who, for some unfathomable reason to me, chose to love me enough to one day take me home, my real home, which will be even better than Ferndale, Arkansas, for one simple reason. I chose to believe He is Who He said He is and He did what He said He did. I love Him…a lot.

That’s really all you need to know about me. Oh…I love to cook. So, from time to time, you’ll see a recipe or two that I found and like, usually from a friend who shared them with me. Very few of them will have a single, healthy molecule in them. It’s a Ferndale thing.

I finally realize the truth. I am, in fact, getting older. My head doesn’t believe it…but my body is screaming it. I have GOT to come up with an idea to make a million dollars so that my dread of ending up in a state run old folks home, sitting next to a barred window in the back of a dayroom, in a wheel chair, being spoon fed strained beets by a 400 pound male intern in a size ‘small’ starched, white uniform, listening to MUZAK play “Evergreen” in the background, will not come to fruition.

My hope is that will you glean a little something from these pieces of my life. glean away…GLEAN!!!

I would love to hear from you!  Complete below:
